Digital Citizen Advocate

It is vital that we take the time to train the next generation on how to use the internet safely and wisely. Campbell and Garner (2016) compare technology with a hammer. It can be a wonderful tool if it is used correctly, but it can also be quite destructive if placed in the wrong hands. Coaches can partner with educators, students, and families to foster a culture of respectful online interactions and help train others on how to evaluate sources for credibility, protect our personal information, and find a healthy balance in their use of technology. In this standard, Coaches get to step up and be role models for others on how to responsibly use technology and tap into the benefits that it has to offer.
