Data-Driven Decision-Maker

Assessment is at the core of teaching. Without assessment, teachers wouldn’t know if students had met the learning objectives or which students needed further instruction. Teachers check for student understanding constantly throughout the day: whether they are conducting formative or summative assessments or simply reading body language, they use the data to inform their own instruction. Similarly, coaches use qualitative and quantitative data to inform their instruction and personal learning (ISTE). Coaches model and support teachers in collecting data, analyzing and interpreting the results, and empowering students to set their own goals and measure their progress.
